The year is 3082 The Magistry of Canopus recently boycotted the signing of the ratification of the Republic of the Sphere after being pressured by their allies the Capellan Confederation. With the Capellans starting to plan an invasion of the Republic in the future they want their ally to gain a greater presence. With the Free Worlds League crumbling under a civil war there was no better opportunity for Canopus to to declare war and grab land.

Canopus's was desperate for help due to it's anemic military and with the Kingdom of Twilight's many years of recent prosperity they were ready to expand. They made a deal with Canopus to acquire a planet of their own or more depending on the success of the conquest. However the Kingdom of Twilight was also lacking in military presence due to cutting support to the former Twilight SeaCats. They decided to throw money at the problem. Hiring an assortment of elite warriors they put together a new mercenary company with the warriors in charge.
